Curriculum

Curriculum

English as an Additional Language is taught through an integrated curriculum based on the Victorian Curriculum which is the Foundation to Year 10 curriculum that provides the prescribed content and common achievement standards, which schools use to plan student learning programs, assess student progress and report to parents.

The aim of the program is to provide the English language and skills required for successful participation in a mainstream school. Students are explicitly taught English language skills (speaking, listening, reading and writing) and are encouraged to work in pairs and groups, building their English language skills in authentic language learning contexts.
